Pearl Jam Rock Legends

Pearl Jam was one of the most influential rock bands of the 90′s and today! They formed as a very unpretentious band in 1990 in Seattle and have since taken the world by hook, line and sinker. The members that made up the legendary band include the likes of vocalist Eddie Vedder who you may have heard of, bassist Jeff Ament, rythm guitarist Stone Gossard and lead guitarist Mike McCready. Since 1998, the drummer of Pearl Jam has been Matt Cameron, originally from another all time band, Soundgarden.

Pearl Jam entered the music scene at a revolutionary time, the alternate rock revolution. Although being sledged by the likes of Kurt Cobain, for selling out to the main stream, they were renowned for their rebelliousness especially in the case of their refusal to participate in the traditional practices of making of film clips and music videos. They made up for lost publicity of no music videos by the huge PR they were getting from the news as well as t-shirt, memorabilia and Pearl Jam poster sales.

Pearl Jam had their first main stream hit with their album ‘Ten’ and have since sold over 30 million albums in the USA. Worldwide their album sales have been over double that figure and more. Pearl Jam toured the world in concert and wowed crowds everywhere they went. They are a band that have lasted the test of time as now in 2010 they are still touring to sell out crowds around the world including England, Australia, Europe and of course the States. Kids, teenagers and adults all around the world have Pearl Jam posters plastered on their walls. They are undoubtedly one of the most unique and influential bands to ever come out of the U.S. and will go down as one of the all time if not THE all time rock band of the 1990′s.
